Invited Speaker @ 108th National Congress organized by the Italian Physics Society

In recent years, many efforts and significant progress have been made to ensure an increasingly environmentally sustainable future in which the physics of renewable energies plays a crucial role. In this frame, photovoltaic panels provide clean energy by exploiting the power of the Sun’s rays: thanks to them it is possible to produce electricity from renewable sources in a clean way. To understand the importance of these issues and raise awareness of the whole population on these issues, it becomes essential to develop ad−hoc didactic experiments, even at low cost, in order to facilitate their reproduction and dissemination. To this end, we propose an experiment that allows to acquire data on physical properties that describe the performance of solar cells through the use of a Raspberry Pi. This configuration also provides the ability to quickly analyze the data collected, displaying the obtained results via smartphone.
